Thumbing The Scales (Cowan & Shad)

The winds are blowing

Fire burning up the sky

Black clouds are growing

In the darkness there’s a lie

Waves in wheat field

lines in the sand

Cracks on a windshield

Tremor in my hand

Trusting in Strangers

Who smile empty-eyed

Never see the danger

As their thumbing the scale on their side

Night is darkest

When the stars all start to fade

Truth is the hardest

When everything at stake

Dead pan predictions

That all will be well

Talking heads on TV

There’s profit in my Hell

Trusting in Strangers

Who smile empty-eyed

Never see the danger

As their thumbing the scale on their side

The wind keeps blowing

Tires burning in my eyes

Black car comes prowling

In the darkness like a lie

Trusting in Strangers

Who smile empty-eyed

Never see the danger

As their thumbing the scale on their side
