Pistol Whip Hangover (Koller & Shad)

I had one too many last Saturday night

I wasn't out drinking, and I wasn't in a fight

I got a late-night call from a beneficial friend

Could never have predicted how the week would end

She's a loose cannon, but her aim is true

I was sweating mighty bullets ‘fore the night was through

now I've got a pistol whip, a pistol whip hangover

She never leaves a letter, never sends a card

Thought we'd keep it simple. Life shouldn't be that hard

Anyone who sees me going to ask me who won

They know I got worked over by something or some someone

I got a pistol whip, a pistol whip hangover

Friday after work I like to clean my house

Vacuum, do the dusting, take the garbage out

Mama used to say “you don't know who will drop by,

Make a good impression. Be that kind of guy.”

But when Monday rolled in and I opened my eyes

Look like a war zone from the losing side

I had a pistol whip, a pistol whip hangover

It ain't no contract, the law ain't here

She gets an inclination and she wants me near

One thing I know for certain when that telephone rings

I'll open up my door and let the hurricane in

To get a pistol whip, a pistol whip hangover

It might be six or seven weeks before I get the call

If I run into her somewhere the talk always stays small

It's utilitarian by any definition

But I never quite know my exact position

I'd like to ratchet up the volume

But then she shuts me out

I never knew exactly what this thing's about

I got a pistol whip, a pistol whip hangover

Expecting something different when he’s always poured the same

Is the very definition of a man acting insane

I don't know what she's pouring but I'm drinking it again

History keeps repeating with my beneficial friend

I got a pistol whip, a pistol whip hangover
